Course Description: This course is for educators interested in using puppetry in the classroom. It offers participants many ideas for using puppets to provide meaningful interactive learning. Puppets are a kid magnet, and hold a student’s attention during the lesson presented. Students also enjoy presenting puppet skits that illustrate stories or learning objectives. Participants gain better understanding of the art of puppetry and all its types (finger, hand, shadow, marionettes, rod, etc.). Direct instruction about puppet manipulation is addressed. Enhancing regular curriculum materials with puppetry is demonstrated.
